The crosscut saw is a large clean, hand-sharpened. 7ppi crosscut that is straight, and a smooth fast sawing saw, with 7-1/4 width at the heel. Hand sharpened with a 15 degree rake and a 20 degree fleam it is a smooth fast aggressive straight cutter. It has a spotless, straight back saw plate, with a very bold visible etch. The clean saw has a good strong thickness at the teeth of. 027 up higher at the straight back so it is tapered ground to allow less set with the teeth. It has been tested and saws smoothly in soft fir and hard white oak. The beech wood handle has an aged patina with rounded contours that ergonomically fits your hand. It is the old English style handle with the delicate lambs tongue at the bottom. It has full horns with no repairs or issues. It has a fine balanced hang with a 26 saw plate and is comfortable when using. Second is a large antique No. It is a perfectly straight 26 rip saw with a 5-1/2ppi. It is a large full width saw with 7-1/4 width at the heel. It is a very clean saw plate with a bold etch. The light colored beech wood is in fine condition with good full length horns and a very comfortable balanced hang. Hand sharpened and ready to use, it is a saw with aggressive fast smooth – straight sawing action. I meticulously fine-tuned this saw to perfection first jointing the tooth line and hand filing each tooth to get the perfect angles and size of each tooth. Which is a fine rake angle allowing smooth sawing action with aggressiveness of cut. Especially in harder woods or woodworkers who dont use handsaws every day, this is a great compromise angle. The saw has a good strong thickness at the teeth of. 029 up higher at the skew back so it has a tapered ground to allow less set with the teeth. I did fine tune the set so it cuts smoothly in kiln dried hardwoods yet a little more set so it also works smoothly in softer woods.
