T his sale is for an. ANTIQUE 1872 BARN BEAM BORING AUGER DRILL PRESS HAND CRANK CAST IRON, MY RESEARCH SHOWS IT TO BE A PHILLIPS AND THIS IS RARE TO FIND THIS MODEL COMPLETE WITHOUT ANY BREAKS! This drill was introduced back in 1884, Wood boring machine where the depth could be set and when the bit reached that depth, it automatically withdrew from the hole as the bit rotated. Please see pictures for condition, it is all original and complete, REALLY RARE BIRD. Drill was completely dis-assembled cleaned out all old grease and oil, reconditioned the metal and hand rubbed tung oil into the wood, then re-assembled. This was treated with a rust converter, it is a working model but will need to be oiled and greased prior to using. There is leterring very faint on the one side and does include drill stop and drill bit. Great log cabin or Home decor.
