Slater maker, Meredith st, Clerkenwell, London, evidently at this address from 1873 until the early 1890s. Gunmetal / bronze body, rosewood infill, Ward & Payne parallel not tapered blade, Sorby cap iron, steel sole, this is a top quality plane by one of the best makers around. 2.25inch / 56mm cutter, 7.5inch / 190mm long, 2.5inch / 65mm wide. Weight – 2.1kg. This plane is excellent vintage condition, has an old repair to the rear infill just behind the blade on the RH side- very well done & very old.
