Antique beam boring drill, used to drill holes for a mortice or for wood pegs in a timber frame construction. The condition of the drill is very good. The wood is in sound condition. I have sanded the old sticky varnish someone put on it and treated it with boiled linseed oil. The mechanical parts all work great but the lifting rack has a crack In it. A previous owner has done a repair by screwing a block of wood to support the rack. The screws to hold the rack together tightly but this just gives it a bit of support. This would be braised or welded if you had the equipment but will still function perfectly without doing this. The bit included works well and has been sharpened by me with a wetstone. Could be used as a beam drill or as a display piece. If you wish to organise a courier i wouldn’t mind packaging it up. But this would be at your own risk.
