66 Hand Beader with both fences and a complete set of Lie Nielsen cutters. T his hand beader is one of the earlier types made before 1898. These beaders were japanned (not nickel plated) and had Justus Trouts 2/9/1886 patent date cast into the handle. All the parts are original to this specific beader except for the round fence, which I bought separately. The beader was in pretty rough condition when I got it. Most of the japanning was either completely gone or deteriorating quickly. I restored the beader and bought the Lie Nielsen cutters so I could use it in my own wood shop, but its just been sitting on my tool shelf since I finished it. Thank you for checking out the beader, and please let me know if you have any question! I only restore tools that wouldnt last much longer without intervention. So all you collectors out there can rest assured I would never destroy the value of a tool just for the sake of restoring it. Still, I work incredibly hard to make sure the restorations are as close to the original as possible. Personally, I believe these tools should be used for their intended purpose, so I work equally hard to make sure all the tools I restore are in perfect working condition.
