This is a mystery tool, came from a diesel mechanics collection of tools. Its made by Sargent Industries Sweeney Division. There a couple of sets of numbers on it, 6068-50A and ST-1245A. This guy worked on all types of diesel engines, mostly Detroit and Cat, I believe this is probably a 70s or early 80s vintage tool. Let me know if you have any questions. Sargent 707 Auto-Set no. 2 size hand plane. Cutter is 4-1/8 long. Rear tote and front knob have a few small dings. 12-15 embossed in plane bed. Japanning is about 90%. Sole has two, very small hairline cracks in opposite corners of the mouth and one small chip. The cracks are stable and are almost invisible to the naked eye. There is one long scratch next to one of the cracks. Other than those two issues it is a very nice plane and a “must-have” for any serious vintage hand tool collector.
