Record no 25 vice engineer mechanic vice on hand-built stand. Bought by my dad from an engineering firm who were going out of business about 20 years ago and seen little use since. Not repainted or restored in any way. The handle has only a slight bend at one end. Quick release operates perfectly. Jaw inserts appear original and are in excellent condition. Stand is very well constructed and puts the vice at a great working height. Stand can be bolted to the floor. Vice weighs 45kg, goodness knows what the stand and vice weigh combined, can just be lifted and moved by two people but would be separated prior to collection. Milled top has tiny marks less than 0.5mm depth from small impacts at some point. The photo from underneath shows no visible wear to the main screw thread. Total height is 103cm. Front to back the total depth needed will be 86cm. The feet span 80cm at the front and 77 cm front to back. Stand top is 47x47x40. Stand is made form 14mm steel plate and 50mm steel box section and it is beautifully welded. Treated right it will out live us all. Collection only – from Cambridgeshire. One set of jaws is 4 inch straight, and the other is 2 1/2 inch curved. Jaws open to 4 inches plus. Body rotates a full 360 degrees to hold the workpiece at any angle, perfect for. Welding, cutting, or just about any job you can come up with… Been used by Engineers, Mechanics, Blacksmiths, Gunsmiths, and even the. British Army Engineers (REME). They make newer versions of this vise, but they. Are not made anywhere nearly as robustly as this unit… It’ll take a proper beating.
