Vintage hand tools – hand plane #52. Up for sale is a Rare & Collectable UNION Mfg Co 042 Smoothing Plane. It’s a good looking plane, not many of this size around. Weight – 1.6kg. The ruler in the photos is for measurements only, not for sale. This plane is in authentic vintage condition, it has a full length Stanley cutter, looks like a beech front knob with a gorgeous patina of age & some wear, mahogany rear handle, it’s a nice example of a hard to find sized plane.
