ATHOL & ASL 1955 9/32 DRIVE BA SOCKET SETS PLUS OTHER BRITOOL RR & SNAP-ON VTG. There are two BA sets here plus some inclusions of other 9/32 drive tools I came across whilst clearing my late fathers workshop. I have bundled these together and they are all that I found in the end, and I think there are most likely collectors and on-sellers alike, potentially interested in their own ways of making the best of these remnants. Requests to split this up and sell individual pieces will go unanswered, but legitimate questions relating to items included, I will of course do my best to answer. These were all pretty grimy and I have de-greased all the tools to the point where they can be identified and I could establish condition, and some bear localised marks from cleaning on a wire wheel also. The boxes have been rudimentairily cleaned, and would restore nicely if necessary as neither are particularly corroded. There are two Tommy bars, each of which are distorted on the square drive, and one is Athol the other Rolls Royce stamped. There are no handled drivers although the Athol drive shaft is there but missing the handle if I. M correct in thinking that is what it is. Both sets run from 0-8 BA. The 2 BA socket pictured has a crack in it and has been shortened. All other sockets appear at least to be sound. The ASL ones have quite a distinctive broad arrow, more like a parasol in my mind, and I have no idea where this company operated from. Flexible drives and extensions all seem sound with sprung balls doing their job. It was fairly solid so I warmed it up and oiled it without much fuss. There are two Britool extension bars, differing in subtle ways but both bear the same part number. Also sockets as pictured as well as a Snap-on RR marked extension with sockets.
